Kids Court Visit – P7 Pupils Take on Road Safety

4th Jun 2026

On Tuesday, our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable and highly engaging experience as they took part in Kids Court.

Working alongside local police officers, the children were given the unique opportunity to step into the role of road safety investigators. Equipped with speed detection devices, the pupils monitored traffic and successfully identified six unsuspecting drivers who were exceeding the speed limit!

Back in the Kids Court, our pupils confidently questioned and interviewed the drivers, putting their communication and critical thinking skills to the test as they held each motorist to account in a live courtroom setting. It was fantastic to see the children demonstrate such professionalism and enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, pupils also:

* Learned about road safety and the serious dangers associated with speeding

* Gained insight into the risks and laws applicable to using e-scooters

* Explored a range of police equipment, with many enjoying the chance to try it on and see how it works up close even our staff got a turn!

This hands-on experience brought learning to life and reinforced important safety messages in a fun and memorable way.

A special word of thanks to:

* Constable Mark Douglas

* Constable Matt Brett

* Sergeant Cathy McDonald

* Constable Matt Millen

* Constable Niamh Mulholland

for delivering such an informative, interactive and inspiring session.

The children (and staff) absolutely loved their day and we are incredibly grateful for the time and effort taken to provide this fantastic (and real) opportunity.

A brilliant day of learning, teamwork and real-life experience – well done P7!
