St Joseph's Primary School and Nursery Unit, Bessbrook, Newry

Holy Week

Dear parents/guardians,

As we move towards the end of Holy Week let us take some time to reflect on the end of a busy term two and look forward to all the learning opportunities term three will offer us.

The theme for Catholic Schools Week this year was, 'United In Faith and Community.' This is just as important during Holy Week and Easter.

We in St. Joseph's P.S. Bessbrook will continue to build strong links in our community.

Holy Week and Easter is a perfect time to come together and celebrate what makes our 'School and Community and our Faith' so special.

Yours,

Mr. Michael Doran

Congratulations to all our P4 boys and girls who recieved their First Holy Communion yesterday and today. God bless you all.
🏐Netball News🏐 What a fantastic morning at St Peter’s Primary School where the P6 and P7 girls had the opportunity to play some netball matches. The girls are a very newly formed netball team, and after only around six sessions together, they were absolutely excellent. Their ball control and skill work were superb throughout the matches, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. A huge thank you again to St Peter’s Primary School for hosting us. Hopefully we can arrange another fixture before the end of the school year. Well done, girls!
A great morning at Carrickcruppen Club with friendly matches against St Peter’s Primary School, Cloughreagh. Fantastic skill on display from our Primary 6 and 7 boys and girls—well done everyone👏🏼
Today, our Primary 6 and Primary 7 boys proudly represented the school in the Malachy McGeeney Final at the Athletic Grounds. They faced St. Mary’s Primary School, Mullaghbawn, and delivered an excellent performance throughout the game. While the result did not go in their favour, the team demonstrated great skill, determination, and teamwork, and were a credit to the school in every respect. We are extremely proud of their efforts and the manner in which they represented their school and the game of GAA. Well done boys
We will be having a jersey day this Friday to build up the excited for the big game on Sunday. Wear your orange jerseys, t-shirts or accessories - or if you’re a down supporter, your red and black! Don’t leave Mr Doran and Mr Traynor on their own!!! £1 per child for school funds.
